We believe all learning starts with positive and respectful relationships. By prioritizing relationships, our students will develop a deep sense of belonging and safety that are essential to taking risks, learning, and growing together.
Students can learn online from home (or the beach!) two days per week with our hybrid schedule. In addition, we personalize learning so that students can learn at their own pace.
Our students will identify their learning purpose and be empowered to co-design learning experiences that positively impact self, community (both local and global), and the environment.
Clear competencies are used by both students and teachers to set goals, assess learning, and measure progress together. Competency-Based Education transforms grading from a judgment to a collaborative tool for growth.
Our students will have the opportunity to embrace local & global community learning experiences through mentors, expert guest speakers, field trips (IRL & virtual), service learning, apprenticeships and work experiences to amplify their education.
All knowledge and skills will be integrated and applied to projects that tap into studentsʻ passions and allow them to authentically address questions and problems that they care deeply about.
Students will view the world through multiple lenses, including ʻĀina-Based and Indigenous Hawaiian-Culture Based Learning, to gain a perspective that is far more expansive and universal than one that relies solely on a Western perspective.
A holistic learning experience includes opportunities for students to participate in the arts, world languages, gardening, STEM and coding, PE and athletics/clubs. Our students will have a dynamic schedule of electives and after-school activities to choose from.
Environmental education has been proven to increase students' engagement, confidence and knowledge. In fact, it's been shown that students who participate in environmental education programs have higher GPAs than those who do not.
Students who are interested in environmental issues learn how they can be active agents of change and make a difference in their communities and around the world. They also acquire skills they need to be creative problem solvers and powerful advocates for environmental causes.
Environmental education programs help students develop critical thinking skills by providing them with opportunities to learn about complex environmental issues that affect us all.
We are currently accepting applications from students in 2023 school year. Once we receive your Interest Form, we will call you to discuss the application process and answer any questions you may have.
